IT Strategy & Consulting

Technology spending without strategy is just cost.

We help Nigerian organisations understand exactly what their IT environment is doing for their business, what it should be doing, and how to close the gap, in language your board can act on.

Independent

No vendor relationships. No referral fees.

Fixed-price

Every engagement quoted before we start.

Senior-led

Director-level input, not junior analysts.

The problem

Most organisations invest in technology without a clear strategy

A business buys a new accounting system. A year later staff are still keeping parallel records in spreadsheets, because the implementation was never finished properly. Technology decisions made in isolation create fragmented, expensive IT environments that get harder to manage every year.

Investment without sequencing

Each purchase made independently, creating silos that cannot be integrated without significant extra cost.

Vendor-led decisions

Procurement driven by what vendors present rather than what the business needs, resulting in over-specified, under-used systems.

No IT voice at leadership level

Significant technology decisions made without a senior voice that can challenge vendor proposals and connect IT to outcomes.

Compliance risk accumulation

NDPR obligations and governance requirements left unaddressed, creating audit exposure that grows silently until discovered.

“A technology roadmap that cannot be explained to a finance director or a board is not a useful document.”

Typical cost to correct a wrong technology decision, versus getting it right the first time.

14 days

Typical time to complete an IT Landscape Assessment for a 50-person organisation.

Our services

Five specialist advisory services

Each service is a fixed-price engagement delivering a specific, documented output. We recommend the Landscape Assessment as a starting point for most new clients.

IT roadmap development

A phased, business-led plan for technology investment over a 12 to 36-month horizon, built on your assessment.

Vendor selection advisory

Independent evaluation of technology platforms and vendors, with no referral fee or partner relationship to bias the answer.

Digital transformation advisory

Structured support scoping, sequencing and governing change, whether that is a cloud move or a legacy ERP replacement.

IT governance & policy

Documented policies, acceptable use guidelines and governance frameworks built to the standard an NDPR audit requires.

Who this is for

Four organisational profiles we serve

IT roadmap

Growing SMEs investing in technology for the first time

You are scaling, buying systems and moving processes online. You need a strategy that sequences these investments so each one builds on the last.

Landscape assessment

Established organisations with fragmented IT

You have accumulated technology over years, different systems, different vendors. You need clarity on what to keep, what to replace, and in what order.

Vendor advisory

Leadership teams facing a major technology decision

You are about to invest in an ERP or a significant platform. You want independent advice before you commit, not from the vendor trying to sell you something.

IT governance

Organisations preparing for compliance or audit

NDPR, ISO 27001 or investor requirements are driving you to formalise IT governance. You need policies and a defensible framework built to the standard the audit requires.

Why GRUU Diamond

What makes our IT Strategy practice credible

Enterprise experience, not theoretical advice

Real implementations, real vendor relationships, real organisational constraints. Includes direct experience serving as fractional CIO for a lean organisation, not just advisory from the outside.

Completely independent, no vendor relationships

We do not resell technology, earn referral fees, or hold partner relationships that could bias a recommendation.

Business language, not technology jargon

Every recommendation framed in cost, risk and productivity terms. A document a finance director can act on and a board can challenge.

Nigerian regulatory and operating context

NDPR, FIRS and sector-specific requirements built into every engagement as standard, not treated as an afterthought.

Fixed-price engagements, not billable hours

Every engagement is scoped, priced and delivered against a specific outcome. You know the cost before we start.

We do not pad scope to justify fees

If a question can be answered in a two-hour assessment, we tell you that rather than scoping a three-month engagement.

Clarity about your technology is worth more than any system you could buy.

Most organisations are one honest IT assessment away from understanding why their investments are not delivering, and what to do about it.

FAQ

Common questions

It depends on scope. An IT Landscape Assessment for a small to mid-size organisation typically takes two to three weeks, including interviews, analysis and report delivery. A full roadmap development engagement runs four to six weeks.

Yes, arguably more so than for large organisations. A small business that invests ₦5M in the wrong system does not have the reserves to absorb that mistake the way a large organisation does. Getting the strategy right before spending matters more, not less, the smaller the organisation.

Where implementation falls within our service areas, SAP, web development, managed IT support, digital learning, yes. Where it requires capabilities outside our practice, we will say so and can help you find the right implementation partner.

Managed Support is operational: it keeps your existing IT environment running reliably day to day. IT Strategy is directional: it determines what your environment should look like and how to get there. Many clients engage both.

Yes. Many engagements involve working alongside an existing internal IT team or incumbent managed service provider. We are not trying to displace that relationship, we provide the strategic layer it may not be equipped to deliver.

Strategy engagements are priced as fixed-fee projects. You receive a written quote covering the full scope and cost before we start. We do not bill by the hour, because hourly billing rewards time spent rather than outcomes delivered.
